Commissioner Trebileock moved that Commissioner Mullins of district No. 4 be appointed a commit- tee to go to Wawina and let con- tract for said drainage ditch. The mo- tion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous Npte. Commissioner Mullins agreed to go to Wawina for the purpose on April 16th, 1910. Commissioner King moved that be instructed to advertise for bids for the construc- tion of a ditch on the west side of the state road north of Deer River; beginning at a point 80 rods north of the south side of the bog, and running south to the south side of the bog, a distance of 80 rods. Said ditch to be 4 ft. wide at the top, 2 ft. wide at the bbttom and 4 feet deep. The dirt removed from the ditch to be placed in the middle of the road. The motion was second- ed by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote. The following bids for road con- struction were then opened and read: County Road No. 12—Carter Road. E. C. Watson for $3.25 per rod Wm. Carter for the sum of $725.00. Wm. Smith for the sum of $700.00, including the furnishing of three steel culverts. State] Road No. 1. Olaf A. Lind, grubbing 75e per square rod and grading 22c per yard. Alfred Blomberg for $1,350.00 and 23¢ per yard for cutting down hills. County Road No. 20—Moose Lake Road. Frank Samuelson for the sum of $1.70 per rod. For putting in cul- verts $10.00. For making drainage ditch 75c per rod. L. E. Hunter for the sum of $1.25 pér rod, including the putting in of all necessary culverts. Said culverts to be furnished by the county and delivered at Deer River. John C. Metke for $1.85 per rod and $8.00 each for. culverts, said cul- verts to be constructed of sawed ‘timbers. George |Metke for “$1.65 per rod and $8.00 each for culverts. Frank G. For making the necessary cuts 19¢ per cubie yard. Peter Peterson for ditching 32% cents per yard. For making the nec- essary cuts and fills 48 cents per yard. and necessary grubbing 18 cents per rod. Commissioner King moved that the bid of Wm. Smith for the con- struction of County Road No. 12 be accepted. The motion was second- oe by O’Brien and per All other road bids were temporarily laid over. Wm. Hulbert was present and re- quested the board to take some ac- tion toward grading county road No. 44, beginning at the SW corner of section 13, township 145, range 25 and’ running ‘west to! the SW corner of section 16 of said town. Commissioner O’Brien moved that ‘the county auditor be imstructed to advertise for bids for grading said road. The motion was seconded by ‘Commissioner Mullins and carried by unanimous vote. An adjournment was then taken until 2 o’clock p. m. Pursuant to adjournment the board again met at 2 p. m. All members of the board present. The county auditor was instructed to advertise for bids for the construc- tion of a portion of county road No. 63, beginning at the 1-16 corner No6é of section 13, township 56 range 23 and running in a northeasterly direc- tion. about 3.64 miles to intersect the town line of townships 56 and 57, range 22, Bt a point near the quarter post on jthe north side of section 5 township 56, range 22. The county auditor was instructed to advertise for bids for the grad- ing of county road No. 27, in the itaown of Feeley, east of the center of section 9 of said townshij The county auditor was instructed to advertise for bids for grading county road No. 50, beginning at the NE corner of section 5, township 54 range 24 and running south one mile to the SE corner of said section 5. The auditor was instructed to ad- vertise for bids for the construction of county road No. 53, beginning at the NE corner of the SE% ofSE% section 12, township range 27 and running thence in a _ westerly direction to the Mississippi river in section 26, township 144, range 25. Separate bids to be received for each mile fof said road. Commissioner Trebileock moved that John S. Lofberg be given the job of removimg the old bridge across | Prairie river, on the Bovey road, and | as compensation for said work he be given all timbers and material in said old bridge. Same to be removed | on or before April 10, 1910. The mo- tion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous | vote. Commissioner Mullins moved that |the sum of $300.00 be appropriated from the county road and bridge fund | to the town of Harris to aid said | town in the construction of road No. 59, known as the west road. The motion was seconded by Commission- er Trebilcock and carried by unani-| mous vote. Commissioner King moved that the| bid of George Harding for the con- struction of county road No. 18 be accepted. The motion was seconded |by Commissioner O’Brien and carri- |ed by unanimous vote. Commissioner O’Brien moved that} the bid of L. E. Hunter for the con- struction of county road No. 20 be accepted. The motion was second- ed by Commissioner King and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner Trebilcock moved of state road No. 1 be rejected and that the chairman of the board ap- point a committee of three to go over said road and meet at a point known as the “Coal Dock” and there let the job for construction of said road. Said committee to meet on Friday the Sth day of April, 1910. The motion was seconded by Commission- er O’Brien and carried by unanimous voted The Chairman then appointed Com- missioners Mullins, O’Brien and King as such committee. Commissioner Mullins moved that the bid of Timothy Hoey for the con- struction of county roa No. 68 be rejected. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Trebileock and carried Iby unanimous vote. on the Thompson road, near Deer River, also the matter of a crossing on county road No. 52 at Swan River was referred to the county attorney upon motion of Commissioner King The county attorney was also instruct ed to notify the railroad company to open all drainage ditches — be- tween DeerRiver and Dumas. The county! auditor advised the poard that insurance policies in the) sum of $5,00,00 upon the court house would expire on April 21, 1910, and 30, 1910. Upon motion the matter pf insurance was referred Court House and Jail committee. Said Thursday the 7th day of April, 1910. Ran- dahl and others for the construction of a highway beginning at the NW corner of section 4, township 55 R. 2: and running east along town line to the Prairie river was then presented, Commissioner King mov- ed that a hearing be had upon said petition at the court house, Grand Rapids, on Saturday the 4th day of June, 1910, at 10 o'clock a. m.; that Jno. P. Trebilcock, Neil Mullins and M.
