OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Itasca County, Minnesota. Grand Rapids, Minn., Feo. 6, 1910. Pursuant to adjournment tae board of county comuussioners of Itasca comply, silnnesota, met at the of- fice of the coumy’ auditor in the village of Grand Rapias this btn day of revruary, 1910, ac 1v o’clock am. All members of the board present. Owing to the crowded condition of the office of tne county auditor upon motion the board selene to the Sheriff's office. : it was decided that the bide for the addition to the countv jail would be opened at 1:30 o'clock p. m. The minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Com- mif.c.er ‘lrepilcock, seconded by Commissioner Muling were approved by unanimous voie. Commissioner King moved that the gum of $50.00 be appropriated from the County Revenue Fund to the Agricultural Association of the county for the purpose of paying premiums on township display from the town- ship of Ardenhurst at the last county fair. The motion was seconded by by unanimous vote. Commissioner Kimg moved that the county auditor be instructed to advertise for bids for com- pleting that part of County Road No. 27, known as the Goodkand-Feeley road, beginning at the center of section 9, township 54, range 23 and running in a westerly direction and connecting with the County road No. 21, known as the Feeley-Bovey road. Also, for the construction of a bridge at the point where sell County road No. 27 crosses the Swan River, Said road to be completed and said bridge to be constructed according to pians and specifications to be prepared by tie County Sur- veyor and filed in the office of the county auditor. Sa‘d bids to be open- ed at a session of this board to be held on Saturday the 5th day of March, 1910, at ten o'clock a. m. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote. . A petitioa was presented signed by the Supervisors of the town of Treit Lake and a number of other residents of said town, requesting an appropriation from the County., Road and Bridge’ Find of ‘$300.00 ' to’ ‘aid slid town in the improvement of @ town road, in said town, known as the Ollila road. Upon mot on of Commissioner Tre- bilcock seconded by Commissioner O’Brien the petition was laid over to the next meeting for further con- sideration. The matter of the purchase of a strip of land across the W% of SW% acd SW% of NW%, section 1, town- ship 145, range 25 for use in can- nection with the drainage ditch know as state ditch No. 57, was alid over until the next meeting and referred to the County Attorney, who was requested to furnish a written opin- ion at the next meeting of the board. The report of fees received by the various county officers, which were filed im the office of the county audi- tor in @-cordance with the provis- ions of Section 603 of the Revised laws of 1905, were then presented to the Board and after an examin- ation of the came it was found that wll officers required by law to file scports had filed the same and upon motion of Commissioner King sec- onde@ by Commissioner O’Brien all said reports were approved by un- animous vote. A petition was presented requestin; the board to instruct the Public Ex- amimer of the state to make an examination of the books and ac- counts of the town of Wirt. Com- missioner Trebilcock moved the adop- tion of the following resolution: “Reso'ved, that the Public Examin- er of the state of Minnesota be and he is hereby requested to make an examination of the books and aacounts of the town of Wirt: iS Itasca county.” The mot'on to adopt the resolution ‘was seconded by Commissioner Mul- lins and carried by unanimous vote. Said relief to commence with the month January, 1910, and to contGue in force until further action is taken and that the County Auditor be in- structed to issue his warrant month- ly for the payment of said relief. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner Trebilcock and carried by unanimous vote. The matter of the appointment of an appraiser of state lands was then taken up. Commissioner Tre- ‘piMgock moved the adoption of the following resolution. “Resolved, that W. E. Martin o. county commissioners, Itasca county, Minnesota, as appraiser of etate land in said county. The motion to adopt the resolution was seconded by Commissioner King and carried by unanimous vote. - Commissioner Trebikcock moved anplicatio® be mada to the state ‘Hichevay Commission for an allot-. ment to Itasca county out of funds to be distributed, by said Highway Commission, for the émprovement of roads, in the sum of $2,250.00. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner O’Brien and carried by unanimons ‘vote. An adjournment was then taken to 1:30 o’clock p. m. Pursuant to adiournment the board againj met. at 1:30. Johnson was present and upon being asked as to the ad- ditional cost for putting in two feet of yonndte in the floor, instead of six inches as provided by the speci- fications, he informed the board that the add‘t‘ona! cost would be $130.00. wiereuron Commis-iover Trebilcock moved that the contract provide for 2 fect of crushed rock and 2 feet of sol'd concrete and that the additional sum of $130.00 be paid in addition to the contract price. The motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner O’Brien moved the ado-tion of the following resolution: “Resolved, that the bid of the Die- bold Safe & Lock Co., for the cell work in the addition to the county J-ll be and the same is hereby accep- ed, and the chairman of this board and the covynty auditor be and the said two officers are hereby direct- ed to enter into a written contract w'th sa‘d Diebold Safe & Lock Co., for the construction of said cell work in accordance with their bid and io*fer and in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the office of the county auditor,. The sald contract to be completed on or before the first day of July, 1910.
