OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS —OF THE— ‘VILLAGE COUNCIL —OF THE— _ Village of Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids, Minn., October 18, 1909. An adjourned meeting of the village council was held and the following members were present: President Bossard, Trustees Remer and Leroux and Recorder Yancey. On motion the village attorney was instructed to draw an ordinance pro- hibiting the breaking of street lights, driving over curbs and boulevards, etc. also to take up with the Great Northern Railway company the matter of removing all buildings, cedar and other material from the right-of-way south of the railroad tracks. The matter of building a fence along the boulevard on Third street was referred to a committee consist- ing of Messrs. Bossard and Leroux. A petition of the Itasca Paper Co. for vacating a portion of First street Hoffman avenue and Houghton avenre was presented and ordered too be filed in the office of the Village Re- corder and on motion duly made and carried November 8, 1909, at 8 o- clock p. m. was fixed as the time for acting on said petition. where delinquent light and water ac- counts remain unpaid on November 1, 1909, the service pipes and service wires of such delinquent consumers be cut off without further notice. On motion duly made and carried the Rudolph S. Blome Co. were grant- ed an extension of time to July 1, 1910, in which to complete the Kin- dred avenue pavement contract. The school board of district No. 1 held their regular meeting Monday evening and the usual grist of bills was allowed. Yancey, village recorder, has moved his office from Kremer & King’s to the council chambers in ; the Village hall. The room has been ‘given a fresh coat of paint, and with the additior of the new desk, filin« cabinet, etc., the office now presents a very neat appearance. Virginia Will Play Here. Although at the time of going to press definite arrangements have not yet been made, it is thought the Vir- ginih football team will meet the City team at South Side park Sunday afternoon. Virginia has a strong team and the game will undoubtedly be a hard fought one. RESOLUTION. By Sitage Council—lo Hear Test- mony and Ascertain Benefits to Pro- perty. Whereas the sidewalk ordered to be built on Gary street from N. W. corn- er of lot 17, bolck 7 to N. W. corn- er of lot 12, block 4 and on south side of Second avenue from Gary street to N. E. corner of lot 13, block 5 in the Village of Calumet, county FALL AND WINTER GOODS: ++ Below are mentioned a few: of the lines just opened: $4 of Itasca and state of Minnesota, by resolution duly adopted on the 7th day of July, A. D., 1909, by the vil- ‘lage council of said village, was not |fully done and completed within the) time and in the manner prescribed} by ‘said resolution; and | Whereas, by resolution, adopted | on the 5th day of August, A. D., 1909, the village council did order the said | sidewalk to be fully completed, and | the work done by contract and the} entire expense thereof to be paid | out of the general revenue funds of said village; and Whereas, the said sidewalk was, by said village, under its said resolution, adopted the 5th day of August, A. D., 1909, as aforesaid, duly completed an approved on the 19th day of October, A. D., 1909; be it therefore Resolved, that at the council room in the village of Calumet, County of Itasca and state of Minnesota, on the 9th day of November, A. D., 1909, at two o’clock in the afternoon of said day, the village council of the village of Calumet will hear testimony of all persons interested or affected, and as- certain the amount of benefit to pro- perty fronting said street and avenue by reason of the construction of said sidewalks on said Gary street from N. W. corner of lot 17, block 7 to N. W. corner lot’ 12, block 4 and on the south side of Second avenue from Gary street to N. E. corner of lot 8, block 5 as aforesaid; and further that this resolution shall be duly served on or before the 3rd day of November) A.
