Notice Notice is hereby given, that at a meeting of the board of auditors in and for the couaty of Itasca, Minnesota, to be held at the office of the county auditor, in the village of Grand Rapids, in said county, on Tuesday the Ist day of June, 1909, proposals will be received for the payment of interest on monthly balances of the funds of said county. STATE OF MINNESOTA, County of Itasca, Village of Grand Rupids Notice 1s hereby given that application has been made in_ writing to the village council Upon motion said resignation was accepted and Miss Lizzie Williams was appointed to fill the vacancy. F. E, Reasswig and C, E. Aiken reported that they had inspected the Bigfork school build- ing and found it completed accoriding to contract, and upon motion said building was accepted. Upon motion the following bills were atlowed: It Tene the time set for hearing upon the application of George Labrie for # transfor of his liquor license from the plat of Dexter- ville to the plat of Orth in the town of Nore, the same was then taken under consideration, There being no objection filed or offered against the granting of such transfer, apes motion of Commissioner J’Brien, seconded by Commissioner McWilliams, said application was allowed by unanimous vote. Communication from Duluth Artificial Limb house offering to furuish an_ artificial limb for Andy Murray for 875 and $100-was then read and. upon motion, the county au- ditor was instructed to order a limb for said Andy Murray for the price of $100. A petition for a bridge across Swan river in township 55, range 23, was presented and, on motion, the same was laid over to the next meeting. Application of J. O. O'Riley for correction of assessment of personal property in the vil- lage of Grand Rapids was allowed and recom- mended to the Minnesota tax commisoion. Commissioner King moved that the county treasurer be authorized and instructed to cause x notice of the payment of taxes upon real estate in all legal newspapers in the county. The notice to be substantially ia the following form: “To all owners of real estate in Itasca county, Minnesota: Take Notice—That on June 1, 1909, a ten per cent penalty will be added to all current real estate tax not paid on or before that date. The motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner King moved that a commit- tee be appointed to examine the county road No. 48, and ascertain the amount of work necessary thereon. The motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioners King. O’Brien and Mullins -were appointed as such committee. The board then adiourned to 1:30 o'clock p.m Pursuant to adjournment the board again met at 1:30 p. m. Members present: Commissioners Mullins, O’Brien, Trebilcock and McWillaams. The county auditor reported that the fam- ily of one Andrew Erickson, Seep in the village of Grand Rapids, was in destitute circumstances. Commissioner McWilliams amoved that the Andrew Erickson case be re- ferred to the chairman of the board. Commissioner O’Brien moved that the county surveyor be instructed to — that part of county road No. 45, begin- ning at the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter section 36, township 56, range 27, and running thence west one-fourth mile: thence south three-fourths of a mile; thence west three- fourths of a mile to the southwest corner of said section 36, and prepare plans and specifi- cations for constructing the same. The mo- tion was seconded by Commissioner Mc- ‘Williams and carried by unanimous vote. J.G,. Hermes, overseer of the county poor farm appeared before the board and tendered hhis resignation as overseer of the poor farm, and requested the board to appoint a person to take his place as early as possible. Mr. S. M. Dinwiddie was present and made applica- tion for the appointment of overseer for the unexpired term of Mr. J.G. Hermes. Com- missioner McWilliame moved that _the resig- nation of J.G. Harmes be accepted and that S, M. Dinwiddie be appointed to fill the unex- pired term under the same terms and condi- tions of Mr. Hermes. The motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by a unanimous vote, The chairman of the board then appointed Commissioner King to witness the transfer of the property at the poor farm from Mr. Hermes to Mr. Dinwiddie. On motion of Commissioner McWilliams, seconaed by Commissioner O’Brien, the coun- ty auditor was instructed to have the neces- sary plans prepared for ceil work at the county jail, Commissioner O’Brien moved that the county fair grounds be leased to the agricul- tural association for the term of one year from the ist day of May, 1909, upon the con- dition that the said association heep the pro- perty in good repair and hold acounty fair upon said property. in the fall; and, further, that the chairman of the board and the coun- ty auditor execute to the agricultural asso- ciatien a lease of said property. The motion was seconded by Commissioner ‘Trebilcock and carried by unanimous vote.
