Last Thursday the west bound noon train had a private car attached for the accomodation of the legisla- tive committee that was appointed to luok over the proposed sites for the new state normal school. The party consisted of Senators S. D. Works, George French, W. A. Hinton and J.C. Hardy, and Repre- sentatives S. E. Gartside, C. E. Jor- gensen, J. N. Burnquist, C. L. Saw- yer and Harry Rines. With the party also were Senators D. M. Gunn, D. S. Hall, A. S. Cample and Repre- sentatives Jolin Goodspeed and A. A. Poehier. They stopped first at Cass Lake and looked over several fine locations that are offered by the citizens of that town and judging by the tone of the reports of the towns people they entertain «lively hope that theirs will bethe famed town. They seem to have imbided that idea from the remarks of the committee while there. However they have some lively opposition in the town of Bemidji and if the later town does not win the prize they will bea badly disappointed community. Thief River Falls is also an as- parant and the committee will take into consideration the attractions offered by all these towns before making their decision. Eclipses, 1909.
