Decker, just returned from an ex- tended visit to the coast states. went west last August and built an | Andrew Broquist, labor on Rice Lake. _ eight-room house for P. B. Paully on Whidby Island, just off the coast of Puget sound, where Mr. Paully bought a farm of 110 acres, that Mr. Decker says will require about five generations to clear up. It is a stump farm. Mr. Paully sold bis fine farm just east of town-to Sheriff Hooliban and went west to be reliev- ed of the task of clearing land. Mr. Decker bought a small fruit farm in the Yakima valley, Washington, east of Seattle about 150 miles. His land is adjoining the village of North Yakima, a town of about 1,500 popu- lation- He expects to locate there next spring. He says it is a fine cli- mate and a great fruit producer. Stanton Will Not Contest Election of Wright The following report was sent from Bemidji on Monday of this week;— Judge C. W. Stanton having been officially advised by the state canvass- ing board of the election of his op- ponent in the lateelection, B. F. Wright of Park Rapids, has announc- ed that he has no_idea of contesting the election, and has sent the follow- ing letter of congratulation to Mr. Wright. “Dear Mr. Wright: The report of your election to succeed myselt as judge of this judicial district, has, I am informed, heen duly confirmed by the state cauvassing board, and I am therefore pleased to congratulate you upon your success.
