W. Johnston, in the im- provement of the old Big Fork’ road. The notion was seconded by Commissioner Sund- lof and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner King moved the adoption of the following resolutions: Whereas, a petition signed by a majority of the legal voters residing in School District No.6 with the approval and recomendation of the county superintendent of schools _en- dorsed thereou asking that.said School Dis- trict No.6 be enlarged so that it would in- clude the following described territory towit: All of townships 59 and 60 of ranges 26 and 27; all that part of townships 143 and 144, range 25, in Itasca county ; all of townships 145 and 146, range 25. That part of township 147 range m. at the office of the county auditor in the village of Grand Rapids in said county. it is further ordered. that notice of the time and place of such bearing be given by posting a copy of the notice of such hearing in some public place in each district to be affected by such proposed change of boun- daries, and a com. thereof to be served vpon the clerk of each of said districts at least ten ae! before the time appointed for such hear- ing. The motion for the adoption of the forego- ing resolution was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by an unanimcus vote. The matter of the claim of C. B. Seelye for certrin work preformed in the year 1904 upon aroad known as the Norton read between Wellers Spur and Deer River was then taken into consideration. It was found that orders bad been given by said C. E. Seelye: to various. persons to pay for work. supplies and ma- teriai furnished him in connection with said work and that such orders in the sum of $596.87 were remaining unsatisfied on file in the office of the county anditor. [t was also found that said C. E. Seelye had made a general assigumeut of all his claim to anv moneys due him on account of said wor Henry Hughes & Co. After considerable dis- cussion of the matter. it was agreed that the board should allow and pay the ameunt of 7 to the persons entitled thereto in ac- cordance with the several orders on file- in the office of the county auditor, in considera- tion of said C. Morse, in the-improve- ment of the Smokey Hollow road. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Passard and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner Passard moved that the sum of $500 be Suproprtaved from the county road and bridge fund, to be expended under the direction of William McVeigh. in the im- epee of the Grand Rapids-Bovey road. he motion was seconded by Commissioner King and carried by unanimous vote. Commissiouer King moved that the sum of $500 be appropriated from the county road and bridge fund, to be expended under the direction of E.C. Watson in the improvement of the State road, south of Grand Rapids, The motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien, and carried by unanimous Vote. The wages to be paid for work on roads dur- ing the ensuing season were fixed as follows: Common labor, $1.75 per day, foreman, 33.00 per day, teams with drivers, $4.50 per day. Conmissioner King moved that the Chair- man of the board appoint a committee of three, to examine and direct the necessary repairs to be made upon the Grand Rapids- Bovey roud, und the State road south of Grand Rapids. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Sundloff, and carried by unan- imous vote. The thairman then appointed Commissioners Passard, O’Brien and Mullins as such committee. Commissioner King moved that the sum of be appropriated from the county road and bridge fund to be expended under the direction of R. W. Lewis, in the construction of State road No. 1, north of Deer River. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Sund- loff and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner Passard moved that the sum of $200.00 be appropriated from the county road and bridge fund, to be expended under the direction of Commissioner Mullins, in the construction of that part of the Black- berry roac between LaPrairie Crossing and Prairie River. The motion was seconded by Commissioner King and carried by unanimous vote.
