D. M. Gunn came before the board and re- quested that the committee appointed by the board to confer with alike committee from the village council and the town board, for the purpose of ascertaining the probable cost of putting in anew bridge across the Missis- sippt river on Leland avi take the mat- ter up at once with the other members of the board, as it was necessary to have the bridge replaced at once, M. O’Brien and the town board of Bass Brooks came before the board and requested thatthe county board make an appropriation to the town of Bass Brook of $800.00 to assist said town in paying for the bridge recently constructed by M. OBrien in said township. The request was laid over to the next meeting. Upon motion duly made and carried Commissioner Fraser was ap- pointed a committee to confer with said town b at their next'meeting, regarding the construction of a bridg ross Prairie r The county surveyor having filed a survey of the Hill Lake road as ordered by the board at their last meeting, Commissioner Moore offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: Whe This board has been duly peti- tioned to blish and build a county road beginning at the south side of the arm of Pokegoma Lake, known as Black's Arm, thence running southwesterly to the south town line of Township 53, Range 26. and in the judgment of the members of this board the petition appears to be reasonable on its face. Now therefore be it hi by Resolved. Thata hearing be had on si petition at the office of the county auditor on Tuesday, the Ist day of October, 1901, and that au committee of two be appointed to examine the proposed location, said committee to meet upon such route at the center of section 13. Township 53, Range 26, on Tuesday, the 10th day of September, 1901..at1 o'clock p.m. and suid committee shall cause due notices to be posted as required by section 2 of chay- ter 202 general laws of 1899. The resolution was duly seconded and upon roll call was unanimously adopted. Chairman Brooks appointed as such com- mittee Commissioners Moore and Fraser. Applications for the position of janitor for the court house and jail were received from E, J. Auderson and Elmer Brock, The ap- pointment of janitor was laid over.
