PROCEEDINGS VILLAGE COUNCIL —OF THE— Village of Grand Rapids A regular meeting -of the villageJ council of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, s held at the village hall on Thurs- day, May 4th, 1899. Present: President’ Berney, Trus- tees O'Connell. D’Anjou and Hepfel, and Recorder King. Minutes of lust. meeting were read: and on motion approved. The report of the committee ap. pointed for the purpose of visiting the paper mill districts in Wisconsin was read and ordered filed. A petition signed by John De Shaw for the repair of C'ough Avenue, be- tween Eighth and Ninth streets was read, and on motion referred to the committee an streets and alleys. Petition of John O'Connell for transfer of the liquor license hereto- fore granted to F. W. Lawrence, was presented and on motion said petiiion was granted and a Lranster of said license ordered. . The matter of the hearing upow the, ds and applications of W. J; Kel- ly, Angus McDonald, Wilder & Hick- ey and Richard Duke coming, up, no yne appearing ii opposition thereto ud it being cousidered that said ap- ants are proper persons to whow to Issue such licenses. It was on motion, ordered that the stid bonds be approved and licenses be granted in accordance with the prayers of said applications. Applications of John MeDonald, Thomas ‘Trainor, McAlpine & Willis and O'Leary & Fraser for liquor licenses were read, hearing set for May 18th, 1899, at 8:30 o’clock p. m. and said applications ordered pub- lished.
