Petition signed by D. W. Doran and others praying that the sum of Five Hundred Dollars be appropriated out of the village treasury to be ex- pended in improving the streets of said village was on motion laid over until the regular meeting in June. Application of Ladies of the G. A. R. Post for use of Village Hall on eve- repa nied. Application of Willing Workers for reluction or charges for use of Vil- Jage Hall was on motion denied. Application for extention of water main from Fifth Street to Fourth Street on Hoffan Avenue and from Hoffman Avenue to Kindred Avenue on Fourth Street’ was on motion re ferred to Committee on Water Works with power to act. On motion J. M. Romans was grant- ed privelege of taking water from stand pipe at $5.00 for use of same October 1, 1898, On motion O. P. Finnes was em ployed to place a 32 candle power electric light in front of main en- trance to Village Pa'l. On motion the couimittee on water works were instructed to employ a man to attend to the drying of the fire hose after use by fire depart ment and to repair shelf for drying same. On motion a ant was ordered drawn on the village treasurer for $10.00 in favor of G. 'T. Robinson for extra time put in by him as village marshall.
