These proceedings have been begun. An arrangement has been made with the Union Pacific reorgani- zation committee by which the govern- ment is to be paid not less than $45,- 754,000 in cash, including the sinking turd. This is equal to the principal of the subsidy bonds, and interest at three and one-third per cent, so that it re- duces the loss of the government to “he difference between six and three and one-third per cent interest.
