Woman Thug Accused 0f Killing Moforist Who Gave Her a Lift Victim, Forced to Disrobe, Was Kneeling in Field in Supplication When Shot BY the Associated Press. LAKE CHARLES, La., Peb. 19— Sheriff Henry Reid said today he had placed a charge of murder against Mrs. Claude Henry, 24-year- old Beaumont, Tex., brunette, for the slaying of a 200-pound salesman who knelt naked in a rice fleld near here and begged for his life. ‘The woman, the sheriff said, led officers Saturday to a rice straw stack where they found the bullet- plerced body of J. C. Calloway, 41, of Houston, Tex. Sheriff Reld gave a coroner’s jury yesterday what he said was Mrs, Henry’s account of the slaying: Mrs. Henry and a man she re- fused to identify were picked up by Mr. Calloway last Wednesday 'j. | between Orange, Tex., and Vinton, . | La.
