Gill, 80, former real estate man and resident of Washing- ton for 62 years, died Priday at his home in the Dresden Apartments after an illness of 10 days. Funeral serv- ices will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the home of a son, Theo- dore N. Gill, jr., at 3022 P street, with interment ° in- Oak H1i11l Cemetery. Mr. Gill was born in Brook- lyn, N. Y, in 1856, and was educated by tu- tors and in pri- vate schools and later entered Co- lumbian College, now George Wash- ington University. His ancestors set- tled in Massachusetts in 1650. He came to Washington in 1874 as secretary to his brother, the late Dr. Mr. Gill. Entered U. S. Service in 1875. In 1875 he was given & clerkship in the United States Commission of Fish and Fisheries by Prof. Spencer F. Baird, where he remained until May, 1896. During this time he became held‘ of its disbursing office, and he also | was acting commissioner of fisheries for several years. In 1896 he resigned and entered the real estate investment business here, representing Boston and | Philadelphia interests. He remained in | this business until 20 years ago, when | he retired. He married Miss Monita W. Smith of Maryland on June 27, 1882. He is| survived by two daughters and one son, Mona W. Gill, Mrs. Charles Ed-| ward Lyon and Theodore N. Gill, jr., and six grandchildren. C, November 28— Two colored men were killed and two others were injured seriously early today when their car crashed into a truck nine miles north of here. Coroner L. M. Waring said the dead men were Joseph McCaLl and John Covington, both of Washington, D. C. The four were en route to Bennei ville, S. C., to attend the funeral of an uncle of the McCalls. Mr. Blackford, who was 60 years | of age, entered Mount Alto Hospital in July and underwent a major op- eration. A second operation was per- formed last week, from which he failed to rally. Four bandits raided a tin and roofing supply company office at 183 Chrystie street, Manhattan, trussing up.and gagging 10 men. It took 45 minutes for one of the 10 to work loose and notify police. The loot was about $300. Five bandits fled in panic without any loot after shooting William Edg- erton, 66, a Municipal Court clerk, when he refused to submit to a search during the hold-up of a Bronx cigar store.
