JAMES AMENT SUCCUMBS AT 73 National Park Seminary President at Forest Glen Operated On Monday. Dr. James E. Ament, 73, for the past 20 years president of the National Park Seminary, junior college for girls, at Forest Glen, Md., died yesterday in Doctors’ Hospital, New York, where he had undergone an operation for gall stones Monday morning. At his bedside when he died were his wife, Mrs. Teresa Ament, and his two nieces, Miss Anastacia Henderson accompanied him from the school to New York on Wednesday of last week. | Dr. Ament, an internationally known | educator, had been in good health un- | til last Spring, when he fell and broke | his shoulder. Shortly before com- | mencement exercises at the school he | began to suffer with gall stone attacks. | Native of Illinois. A native of Woodburn, II, Dr. Ament was the son of the late Rev. James Roe Ament and the late Emily | A. Dodson Ament. He graduated from | Illinois Normal University and re- | ceived his LL. D. degree from Tran- | sylvania University and a Ph.
