TEAGHER, DIES Directed Domestic Arts in Schools—Joined Staff 27 Years Ago. Miss Ida Florence O'Neal, director of domestic arts in the District's white elementary, junior and senior high schools, died yesterday at her resi- dence, 739-A Rock Creek Church road, after an illness of several months. Miss O'Neal was appointed a teacher |in 1908 and for the past 15 years had iserved in an executive capacity. As a teacher of domestic art—the science of cooking and housekeeping— she became known to thousands of Washington schoolgirls. Her first in- struction was given at the Smallwood School in Southwest Washington, the District’s earliest vocational institu- tion. She later was instrumental in organizing studies for girls in the Dennison Vocational School. SIBERT RITES HELD IN KENTUCKY | Panama Canal Engineer Will Be Buried Tomorrow in Arling- ton Cemetery. Funeral services for Maj. Gen. Wil- liam L. Sibert, U. 8. A, retired, were held this afternoon at Bowling Green, Ky., where he died yesterday after a long illness. Burial will be in Arling- ton National Cemetery tomorrow. Many achievements marked Gen. Sibert’s career, principal among them being his engineering work in charge of the Atlantic sector of the Panama Canal construction. Other engineering feats, both before and after his retire- ment in 1920, are well remembered by his associates. As a major general at the time of the World War he took the 1st Division to France. Later he returned to organize and become chief of the Army's Chemical Warfare Serv- ice. Gen. Sibert graduated from West Point in 1884. He was 75 at the time | of his death. Chaplain Julian E. White Iron Works, which was founded by his father before the Civil War, died suddenly last night at his home 3170 Seventeenth street. He had been ill for several months but apparently was recovering. Death 1s believed the result of a heart attack. A native of Washington Mr. White was associated with the iron works throughout his career. As a boy he began in the employ of his father, George H.
