PFEIFFER BREWING STOCKS ARE LISTED| First Time Exchange Offers Trad- | ing Facilities to Beer Company in 25 Years. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, September 14—The New York Stock Exchange has an- nounced its formal approval of an ap: plication to list the shares of Pfeiffe: Brewing Co. of Detroit. This marks the first time since | abandonment of the exchange's un-| listed department more than a quar- ter of a century ago that the organi- | zation has offered trading facilities to a beer bréwing company. Since repeal several brewing con- cerns discussed the matter of listing | with the exchange authorities, but | the negotiations thus far have not led to any cept that of the Pfeiffer company. The latter’s listing will embrace 390,- 412 shares of no-par stock. 346,000 BARRELS DROP IN CRUDE OIL STOCKS ‘The Bureau of Mines reported today that stocks of domestic and foreign crude oil-at the end of the week Au- | gust 31 totalled 309,976,000 barrels. Compared with the previous week | this total showed a decline of 346,000 ! barrels made up of decreases of 181,000 and 165,000 barrels in stocks of domes- | tic and foreign cruce, respectively. LONDON, September 14.—Sterling improved in a quiet short session of the foreign exchange market today and the United States dollar closed at 4.94 15-16, slightly off from the New York overnight rate, of 4.94% to the pound.
