FLORENCE OWENS DIES AT HOME HERE Funeral Services Will Be at Per- ryville, Md., Wednesday Afternoon. Mrs., Florence D. Owens, 83, dled early today at the home of her daugh- ter, Mrs. J. Stacy Gorrell, 3700 T street, after an illness of about four months. The body will be taken to Perry- ville, Md.,, her former home, where funeral services will be held Wednes- day at 2 pm. Mrs. Owens was born in Leesburg, Va., but moved with her family to Cecil County, Md., and spent most of her life at Rising Sun and Perry- ville. She had been in Washington for about 10 years. Dr. Godfrey Chobot, pastor of the Sixth Presbyterian Church, died yes- terday in Asheville, N. C., after a long f{llness, according to word re- ceived here last night. He had entered a sanitarium there in May to receive treatment for a tubercular affliction. His daughter, Miss Pauline Chobot, a teacher in the public schools here, was with him at the time of death. Dr. Chobot had held several pas- torates in New York State before coming to Washington 12 years ago. Under his direction, the Sixth Pres- byterian Church here erected a new building at Sixteenth and Kennedy streets during his period as pastor. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. Mr. Shinn was a son of the late James W. Shinn and Margaret Shinn. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise M. Shinn; his mother and a brother, Elton Shinn. He was a past master of Alexan- dria-Washington Masonic Lodge and | its treasurer for more than 25 years.
