In cabled dispatches, in letters from relatives, in gossip among travelerr, comes che message: “Watch Poland!” Indications from many sources are that Poland’s future history—probably of the immediate future—will be of | absorbing interest. From Germany comes the disturbing rumor that some elements feel that Pomorze, that area which often is called “the Polish cor- | ridor,” should again be part of Ger- many. The rumor is not shouted. It is, as a matter of fact, officially | frowned upon, for Germany and Po- | land have a “cultural pact” under | which the two governments have un- | dertaken to see to it that their citi- zens do not make unkind remarks | about their neighbors across the bor- ‘I der. But the smoke of rumor is there and the world may well be concerned by how much fire is causing that smoke. | Poland Once Partitioned. | ‘Poland once was partitioned between Russia, Germany and Austria. By the Assoctated Press, DOVER, Del, February 2.—They're talking about extending the nineteenth amendment of the United States Con- stitution to cover Georgetown—popu- lation: 1,763. Under that amendment, women of the Nation have had the right to vote for the last 14 years, In Georgetown, however, there is another law. It says no women may vote at municipal elections unless they own property. Yesterday the Houss passed Repre- sentative Frank L. Joseph's bill giving all Georgetown women the right to vote.. Poland has concluded bilateral pacts with Russia, Germany, Ru- mania and other neighbors whereby she seeks to guarantee peace.
