EUGENE DUNNIGAN DIES IN MILWAUKEE Funeral Services to Be Held To- morrow at Rochester—Came Here in 1913. Eugene Beach Dunnigan, member of the Labor Department’s Commis- sion of Conciliation, died Friday aft- ernoon in St. Anthony's Hospital in Milwaukee of pneumonia, which he contracted there while on official business. He lived here, with his wifr, Mrs. Catherine Dunnigan, at 3804 Windom street. Born in Rochester, N. Y., 56 years 8go, Mr. Dunnigan was an expert electrotyper and in 1913 was offered & place in the Government Printing Office. He was forced to resign in 1919 because of ill health, but re- turned in 1920. In that same year he was given a Senate office position, beginning his service on the Con- ciliation Commission in 1921. Mr. Dunnigan was a member of | St. Anne’s Catholic Church here, the Knights of Columbus and the Loyal Order of Moose. The first ambulance call brought Emergency Hospital's speeding vehicle to 310 O street to answer a sick call. ‘The first police call came from the scene of a fatal automobile accident in the 2300 block of Bladensburg road, where Miss Irma Crouch, 18, was killed. DECIMUS C. BARBOT DIES IN HYATTSVILLE Former Architect of Charleston, 8. C., Will Be Buried Thursday. Special Dispatch to The Star. HYATTSVILLE, Md., January 1.— Decimus Chartrand Barbot, 61, for- merly a well-known architect of Charleston, S. C., died yesterday aft- ernoon at his home at 14 Cedar street here. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Barbot had not been well since he came here three years ago from Charleston, where he designed some of the largest buildings. He was born and spent most of his life there. Surviving are the widow, who before her marriage was Miss Eloise Collins of Charleston; three sons, Decimus and Noel of Charleston and Paul of | Hyattsville and three daughters, Mrs. Joseph T. Keating and Mrs. Archie | C. Keegin and Miss Henriette Barbot, | all of Hyattsville. Three sisters also | | and Mrs. T. F. Webb of Mount Pleas- ant, S, C, and Mrs. Henry Elliott of Charleston. Press, former pro- fessor of physics at the University of Maryland and resident of Washing- ton, died suddenly of a heart attack December 28 in Moscow, where he had teen teaching and studying at the All-Union Elecirical Technical Insti- tute for the last year. Dr. Press went to Moscow after he resigned his chair in the College of the City of New York in June, 1933. Formerly with the Patent Office and the Bureau of Standards here, he was connected with the Rockefeller Foun- dation, which sent him to the Univer- sity of Bangkok for several years. He also had taught at the University of California, and had published many scientific articles in French, German, English and Russian periodicals. Dr. Press was a native of London, but had spent most of his life in the United States and was naturalized in 1905. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jane Laddon Press of Washing- ton, who went with him to Russia, and a daughter, Mrs. Ruth P. Rashby of New York City. Mrs. Press’ sister, Mrs. Sidney 8. Holt has decided to abide by the advice of Democratic Senate leaders to refrain from offering himself fof the oath of office until June 19, his 30th birthday. Funeral services for Shiro Tsurusaki, former chief steward of the presi- dential yacht Mayflower, who served in the United States Navy for 30 of his 60 years, will be held tomorrow at 2 pm. in the Willlam Lee Sons' chapel, followed by burial with naval honors in Arlington National Ceme- tery. In his capacity as chief steward of the Mayflower, Tsurusaki served Presi- dents Theodore Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson and Harding.
