A—8 MARYLAND PASTOR CONDUCTS SERVICE Dr. C. H. Funk to Preach at National Christian Church Tomorrow. Dr. Charles Hume Funk, pastor of the Beaver Creek Christian Church, near Hagerstown, Md., will be the guest preacher tomorrow morning at the Na- tional City Christian Church in the absence of Dr. H. H. Harmon. Dr. Harmon left this week for a few weeks’ vacation at Bethany Beach, Del., where he will be joined soon by Mrs. Harmon and daughter Mary. His sermon will deal with the cele- bration of the centenary of the Oxford Movement, recently held in London, at which Dr. Smith was present and which was attended by great throngs, not only from England but from the United States, Canada and other English- speaking countries. Dr. William S. Bishop, vicar of St. Thomas’, who has been in charge of the parish during the absence of the rector, started yesterday on his vaca- tion, which he will spend for the most part at Atlantic City. The golden text is from Psalms, 143:10: “Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God; thy spirit is good.” .
