REV WALTER HOOK TAKES POST FEB. 1 New Pastor of Ingram Con- gregational Comes From Frostburg, Md. ‘Rev. Walter C. Hook, for the past one end one-half years pastor of First Con- gregational Church, Frostburg, Md., wiio has accepted a unanimous call to the pastorship of the Ingram Congre- gational Church, Tenth and Mas- sachusetts avenue northeast, will assume his duties February 1. Rev. Frederick Vining Fisher, former pastor, has ac- cepted a call to the Associate Congrega- tional Church in, Baltimore, Md. Mr. Hook was born in West Virginia but spent his youth in Winchester, Va. He is a graduate of Elon College in North Carolina, and attended the Union Theological Seminary in New York State. He was formerly engaged in magazine and newspaper work. He be- gan his ministry in Eastern Virginia and after six years there was called to the First Christian Chusch in Albany, N. Y., where he ministered for three busy years, serving on many local and State” committees, conferences and re- ligious associations. In 1926 he ac- cepted a call to inaugurate a Youth Congress, a movement in the churches of the Christian denomination of the Eastern Virginia Conference. Upon completing this task he went to #Hol- land, Va., to assume a charge there while also serving as pastor-counselor and director of the youth program. CHURCH WILL HOLD MELTING POT RITE Gifts of Gold and Silver Articles Will Be Collected at Hamline Tomorrow.
