MURRAY TO RETURN T0 AR OVER WRG . Comedian to Be Master of; Ceremonies in New Series ‘of Royal Vagabonds. Ken Murray, vaudeville comedian, who made a sensational hit in a com- edy sketch on the Sunshine Hour with Rucy Vallee recently, will return to the * microphone tonight as master of cere- onies in @ new series with the Royal agabonds on WRC and a network of other N. B. O. stations. Murray and the Vagabonds will firoadcast from 8 to 8:30 o'clock. A gala variety program has been arranged to introduce the new series. The coming of the Vagabonds will| nge “The Shadow” from his regular o'clock spot to the 8:30 to 9 perio: Mis present series of mystery pla: will continue at the new time for the Temsinder of the season. From 9 to 10 o'clock WRC will broad- | east an elaborate symphony concert, | conducted by Issay Dowbrowen, who has appeared in recent years as guest | leader of the Philadelphia, New York | Philharmonic and San Francisco Sym- phony Orchestras. Immediately after- ward will come the weekly presentatton of the Corn Cob Pipe Club, which will | take the form of an old-fashioned ama- teur night show. Program Mostly Music. Except for Nellle Revell's interview st 11 o'clock and & 15-minute broad- cast by the Three Keys from 12 to 12:15, WRC’s program from 10:30 to 1 o'clock will be made up entirely of dance music. Dance orchestras in Washington, New York and Chicago will take part in these programs. Refreshed and tanned after a Win- ter vacation in Florida, Bing Crosby, ecstatic batitone, will return to the aif tonight over WJSV and affiliated Co- Jumbia stations. He will be heard with Leonard Hagton’s Orchestra in the “Music That Satisfies” series from 9 to 9:15. For his initial program Crosby will sing “Love Me Tonight,” * and “How Deep Is the Ocean? Italian and English songs will be offered by Nino Martini, tenor, in his | recital with the Columbia Symphony Orchestra from 11 to 11:30 o'elock. The orchestral selections range ffom | the overture to Verdi's “Sicilian Ves- rs” to the ceremoniots “‘Ci K)n March” from Meyerbeer's Prophet.” “Whispering” Jack -Smith, the Hum- mingbird Trio and Arnold Johnson's Orchestra will present a lively program from 8 to 8:15 o'clock, and “Singin’ Sam” will take the next 15 minutes for his informal program of song favorites of the past and present.
