There will be & Campaign Commit- tee, located at the Roosevelt headquar- ters in New York, but it will assist and co-operate with the State organizations rather than attempt to dircct them, Farley said. For the campaign there will be only | one national headquarters, located in New York City. There will be no branch headquarters aside from the regular headquarters in each State. The office established in Washington by the last National Committee Wwill continue to function as a permanent organization of the National Commit- tee, Farley said. It was said, however, that it would be run with a skeleton- ized staff. Farley said the Governor had appoint- ed him chairman o the Campaign Com- mittee. The personnel of the commit- tee Las not yet been made up. Farley said representatives from every section of the country would at all times be at the New York headquarters. The plan is to rotate these visitors, each one spending a week or 10 days at a time in New York | _“The finances for the campaign,” Farley said, “will be raised by a special | finance committee. ROCKVILLE, Md., July 20.—The road leading from Frederick road south of Gaithersburg to Washington Grove was ordered closed yesterday by the Board of Montgomery County Com- missioners. Carter states that wild life in the county is showing a big increase this year and there will be a plentiful supply of game -available when the hunting season opens. RAID BRANDYWINE STILL Prince Georges Police Report Cap- ture of 1,000-Gallon Plant. By a Staft Correspondent of The Star. UPPER MARLBORO, Md. July 20. —A 1,000-gallon still was seized by a raiding party of Prince Georges County policemen, headed by Sergt. A. W. Hep- burn last midnight on a farm near Brandywine, according to police. Twenty-two 500-gallon mash boxes were taken, they said. It was one of the most elaborate stills ever s-ized in this section, Sergt. Hepburn was aided by Officers Naylor, Beall, Gray and Turner. BULL, RETIRED, DIES AT 80 Youngest Member of 1870 Class at Annapolis Had Varied Career in Navy. By the Associated Press. SAN FRANCISCO, July 20.—Com- modore James H. Bull, U. 8. N, retired, died at his home here last night at the age of 80. Senior in the now abolished rank in the Navy, Commcdore Bull was stricken shortly before dinner time at his home, became unconscious and died shortly afterward. The youngest of all midshipmen to have been graduated from the Naval 17 as a member of the class of 1870— Commodore Bull retired here 25 years 2go. changing Navy, which was young in steam and barely aware of heavy armor when he entered the service. He served through the Spanish-American War in the blockade off Havana and later saw service in the Philippines. Besides his widow, Mrs. Katherine T. Bull, three sons and a daughter survive. MRS. Guinn, died yesterday at Uni- versity Hospital, Charlottesville, after a long illness, during which she had un- dergone several operations. She is survived by her mother, Mrs S. L. Insteep; her husband and six children, W. Cariton Guinn of Cleve- land, Ohio; Capt. C. T. Guina, Jr., of the faculty of Virginia Military Insti- | tute; Johnson Guinn, & thirc-year stu- dent of University of Virginia; Clau and Russell Guinn of Culpeper, and one daughter, Mrs. H. Franklin By- waters of Culpeper. Two sisters, Mrs. W. 1. Harrison of Herndon and Mrs. T, B. Epperson of Ocean View, Va., and three brothers, John H. Special Dispatch to The Star. LURAY, Va. July 19.—The first County Club 4-H Council was formed in Page County yesterday and dele- gates elected from that council to at- tend the Short Course at Blacksburg. The meeting was held at Stanley, every club being represented. The Council is composed of the president and secre- tary of each club. The foliowing were elected as officers of the Council, and also to represent their County at Blacksburg: Ray Coffman, president, Isaac Newton Louderback, secretary, and Cecil Norman, vice-president.
