BOSTON, January 18—The Mary. reputed speedy rum runner of New Bedford, was seized after a 2-mile chase in Dorchester Bay today, and her cargo of 800 cases of liquor confiscated by Coast Guards. It was the second selzure in Boston waters within a few hours. Earlier in the morning the pow- er boat Buddy was captured with a load of liquor estimated by officials to be worth $20,000 The crews of both boats escaped. The capture of the two craft ended 24 hours of activity on the part of the Coast Guard, during which every boat out of the East Boston base was en- gaged in patrolling the harbor waters Scores of fishing craft were stopped and searched as a result of a tip that a large quantity of liquor was to be landed under cover of foggy weather Boatswain's Mate A.
