THANKSGIVING SERMON THEME IS ANNOUNCED “Why Give Thanks in These De- pressing DaysP” Is Subject Chosen by Dr. F. F. Holsopple. “Why Give Thanks in These De- pressing Days?” is the theme of the annual Thanksgiving sermon to be given by Dr. P. F. Holsopple, pastor of the Washington City Church of the Brethren, tomorrow. Young people of the B. Y. P. D. will have charge of the evening service. Mauro Baradi, secre- tary to Mr. Camilo Orias, and himself an _active member in the District Endeavor, will be the guest speaker. On Sunday evening, November 29, the dramatic club of the church will present a Thanksgiving pageant. Spe- clal evangelistic services by the Rev. M. G. West are scheduled to begin on Monday evening, November 30, at 8 o'clock. On Thanksgiving day the church is to join with the congregaticn of the Metropolitan Presbyterian Church for united services. Rev. Ennis will be the conducting pastor. WORLD MISSIONS DAY OBSERVANCE IS PLANNED Dr. and Mrs. B. F. Shively of Japan to Speak at Memorial United Brethren Church. World Missions day will be observed at Memorial United Brethren Church, North Capitol and R streets, tomorrow. In the morning at 11 o'clock Dr. and Mrs. B. F. Shively, missionaries to Japan, will speak. In the evening at 8 o'clock an illustrated message on mis- sions will be delivered by Mrs. Margaret Burgess. A special Woman's day offer- ing for missions will be received at all the services. The Sunday school, with special fea- tures, will meet at 9:40 am. and the C. E. Societies will serve tea at 6 o'clock in the evening. All members of the societies who attend are asked to bring cans of fruit or vegetables to be packed in baskets and given to the missions for distribution. The Chris- tian Endeavor meetings will be held at 7 o'clock, with Miss Beryl Barnnon leading the seniors and Miss Anne Fugitt the intermediates. —— MISSION IS PLANNED Rev.
