There were 80 guests for the dinner and 250 additional guests joined the com- pany of dancing. A tropical effect was carried out in the unique decorations. Painted canvas, depicting moonlight on the waters, through tall palms, was hung about the walls. The paintings were done by Mr. Joseph Mullen of New York. During the evening a gypsy slnger, Mme. Potakova, sang gay gypsy 'I'he debutante wore a lovely gown of white tulle, and her sister, Miss Florence Meyer, was in black net and velvet. Mrs. Meyer was in beaded gold chiffon. COOLANGATTA, Australia (#).—Big fleas have little fleas and so did Coolangatta. Myriads of ravenous fleas invaded the town—but at the end of the three days disappeared as quickly and mys- teriously as they came. Every store sold out of insecticide and urgent calls were sent out to other towns for fresh supplies.
