Rodney Gary, 67 years old, of 1735 New Hampshire avenue, died yesterday following a long iliness. Maj. Gary was a cadet for two years at the Agricultural and Mechanical Col- lege of Texas, Sul tly he was an officer of one of the military companies of Galveston until June, 1883, when he entered the United States Military Academy at West Point. He came to Washington after three years at West Point. and here he was commissioned a major of the 4th Bat- talion, District Milit by President Cleveland. He later was made major , |of the 2d Batfalion by President Har- rison. Shortly after coming to Washington Maj. Gary entered the civil service and " | was employed in the Ordnance Depart- " |ment of the War De%nunmt. ‘When he was retired for disability in 1926, Maj. Gary was in the finance office of the War Department. He is survived by three sisters, Miss v. | Wilmuth Gary and Mrs. Emil A. Gath- nd Mrs. Paul Anderson of\ Washington.
