BAPTISTS SPONSOR HOME FOR CHILDREN Will Break Ground Tomor-, row for Buildings on Cedar Lane, Near Bethesda. Ground will be broken at 4:30 o'clock | tomorrow for the erection of several | new buildings for the Baptist Home for | Children in Montgomery County, Md., | beyond Bethesda, on Cedar lane. The site contains 137 acres. ‘The Baptist Home for Children was | organized in 191a. In addition to large money gifts, a property was given in/ Brookland by John B. Lord, which was | remodeled and enlarged and the or- phanage project has been conducted in that location ever since. As a result of the growth of the institution, it was decided to purchase the property in Montgomery County and the old place was sold. Swimming Pool Provided. In addition to _the buildings that are to be erected, a large swimming pool is | to be construcied. Toward this enter rise Mr. Edwin Gould of New York| as contributed $83,857. In connection with the exercises to- morrow, E. Hilton Jackson, president of the board of trustees, will preside, as- sisted by Mrs. Julian C. Dowell, presi- dent of the board of lady managers. An opening prayer will be offered by Dr. William S. Abernethy, pastor of | Calvary Baptist Church, and the prayer of dedication will be offered by Dr. Samuel J. Porter, pastor of the First Waptist Church, and the benediction will be pronounced by Dr. Gove John- son. pastor of the jonal Baptist Me- morial Church. A letter will be read from Mr. Gould, after which remarks will be made by Dr. Henry W. O. Mil- lipgton, the founder of the home. An address will be delivered by Senator A. W. Barkley of Kentucky.
