Impressive funeral services for Capt Martin J. Reilly, commander of the sixth police precinct, who died at the Georgetown University Hospital Friday, were conducted at Holy Trinity Cath- olic Church today at 9:15 o'clock. Re- quiem mass was held. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery. ‘The various ranks of the Police De- partment were represented in the list of honorary pallbearers. They were In- spector T. R. Bean, Capt. Maurice Col- lins, Lieut. J. A. Sullivan, Sergt. J. E. Thompson, Pvt. C. C. Penn and Detec- tive Michael Dowd. There was a police escort of more than 30 men. Capt. Reilly was 59 years old and re- sided at 2528 Wisconsin avenue. His death in the hospital Friday followed an operation he underwent several weeks ago. Capt. Rellly was appointed to the po- lice force in April, 1901. He was pro- moted to sergeant July 1, 1911, and seven years later was promoted to the grade of lieutenant. Special Dispatch to The Star SISTERSVILLE, W. Va. June 9.— Funeral services were held today for Al Villers, 85, the last surviving Civil War veteran in Meade district, Tyler County, who died in his automobile when his granddaughter, at the wheel, lost control of the car. He was riding from his home, at Wick, to the home of his son, N. G. Villers, when he seemed to choke on an orange he was eating and fell over against the driver, who became excited and let go of the steering wheel. The car plunged from the highway over an embankment, but physicians expressed the opinion the aged man's death was due to a stroke and not from injuries when the machine left the highwa Sandy Spring Lad Wins.
