FIELDS DIES OF INJURIES Retired Member of White House Police Force Fell on Ice About Ten Days Ago. Napoleon B. Fields, 71 years old, re- tired member of the White House po- lice force on which he served for many year, who had the acquaintance of many Presidents, died in Georgetown Uni- versity Hospital yesterday from septic poisoning resulting from injuries sus- tained when he slipped and fell on the ice in front of his home. 2813 Bellevue terrace, about 10 days ago. Mr. Flelds had served at the White House during the administrations of all Pmmenu from Cleveland to Harding. He retired in 1921. During ete last 15 years of his service he was on night waich duty in the executive offices. While in the service he made a col- lection of autographed photographs of the Presidents in the whm House dur- ing the time he was stationed there. He also had pictures of many diplo- mats and other dignitaries who had been entertained at the executive mansion. Mr. Fields was a member of Potomac Lodge of Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star.
