6 “0THER WISE MAN OFFERED AT CHURCH Amateur Players’ Adaption of Biblical Pageant Pleases Many. & A colorful and musical presentation of “The Other Wise Man" was given last night at Luther Place Memorial Lutheran Church, under the direction ©of Bess Davis Schreiner. It will be re- peated tonight and tomorrow night. The Biblical pageant, adapted from the story by Henry Van Dyke, was given its successful first performance before & well filled auditorium—an auditorium, by the way, exquisitely fitted to form the background for such a production. It has been presented annually, for geveral Christmas seasons, under Miss Schreiner’s direction and now has all the thoroughness of a play made up of professional elements. Narrator Sits in Loft. Above the pulpit stage, # the black- draped cholr loft, sits the Narrator (Miss Katherine Riggs) of striking beauty in her white robes, with a golden h&wp yesting against her. She Tises in her d%eourse. then sits to play. This she does besutifully. The music is so arranged to at times coincide, or perhaps synchronize—to use a “talkie” term—with the words of the players beneath.
