Moody, jr., of Berkeley, Calif, America’s most fa- mous Christmas honeymooners, are go- ing somewhere today. No one, includ- ing themsclves, appears to know just where. Arriving at Los ‘Angeles Harbor lat: yesterday, where the 40-foot yawl Galatea, loaned them by Cyril Tobin, a San Francisco friend, lies ready to take them wherever fancy may dictate, the form:r Helen Wills and her newly acquired husband struggled out of a roseate haze long enough to smile upon newspaper men and admit that every thing_ was just perfectly lovely. They couldi't secm to remsmber, however, exactly what they had planned to do next. Mrs. Moody was not sure where they had lunch yesterday, but it was a “perfectly lovely place,” she was sure of that. Married at Berkeley. The couple were married Monday in | St. Clement’s Chapel, Berkeley, and mmotored to Santa Barbara, where they Epent Monday night. If any one has any authoritiative information on this matter there are some harrassed city officials here who would like to get it. The matter was made a question of official importance Monday night when Walter H. Hoshal, superintendent of the Calhoun County Council of Re- ligious Education, protested against ad- vertisements showing Sa. Nicholas with a cigar. Sald Mr. Hoshal: “To mislead children into believing that the symbol of the Christmas spirit should smoke is to flaunt the sacred memories of childhood.” The commission passed the matter along to the city attorney. Mayor Wil- liam P. Penty said he had observed that men riding in the cold do not seem to get mugh enjoyment out of smoking and that accordingly he does not believe Santa Claus will be puffing a stogie as he makes his rounds tonight. SLIDES FOLLOW QUAKE. Cause 20-Acre Headland, Mariners’ Landmark, to Disappear. Associated Press. EASTPORT, Me., December 25.— Two landslides last week on the New Brunswick shore of the Bay of Fundy, reported Monday, were believed here to have been an aftermath of the se- vere earthquake of November 18 off the coast of Maine and the Canadian prov- inces. That disturbance was felt as far distant as Northern New ' York State and caused serious loss of life in New- foundland and damage to liners at sea. Some 20 acres of headland, used as a running mark by mariners, disappeared, presumably sunk in the sea, at Crow Harbor, near the town of Pochlogan, in Charlate County, 25 miles east of this city. The point of land, known as “Red Head,” a heavily timbered bluff rising nearly 100 feet above the surface of the bay, virtually was wiped off the map by the slides. In sections remaining of the head- land big spruce and fir trees were left criss-crossed and split, as though felled by the hands of giants.
