CRIME New York Man Named by Group to Collect Facts for Commission. The cost of crime will be subjected to intensive study on behalf of the Presi- dent’s Law Enforcement Commission by Goldthwaite H. Dorr of INew Yoult. Appointment of Dorr as expert con- sultant and advisor of the subcommittee charged with responsibility for investi- gation of that subject was announced late yesterday at the conclusion of a three-day session of the commission. Dorr’s investigation will include such factors of the cost of crime as protection of property against theft and burglary and the cost of insurance against crime. He has had broad experience in the administration of criminal law, having been assistant United States attorney at New York City from 1906 until 1913 and special assistant to the Attorney General in 1920 and 1921. He was as- sistant director of munitions on the staff of the Secretary of War during the World War and has lectured on legal subjects at the Columbia Law School. ‘The commission set its next meeting date as December 3, but left the way open to meet earlier if the progress of the experts made such a gathering de- sirable.
