DETROIT, September 9.—Ralph A. ‘Wood, Wylndom real estate dealer and builder; his business partner, Her- bert L. Sullivan, and Cecil W. A one-armed man led bank robbers. Wood has one arm. Mrs. Wood, Thompson and Pearce then said they were attempting to_obtain from Wood's vault in his office, proof that he committed the hold-up. Pearce and Thompson were identified by Sturgis residents as having visited Sturgis a few days after the obbery to investigate, but Wood and I-lnlt established almost indisputable alibis and were exonerated of the hold- up charge. A grand jury investigation to de- termine whether a crime was committed when Hagerty was slain resulted in the indictment of Wood, Holt and Sullivan on murder charges; the assault charges against Mrs. Wood, Thompson and Pearce, are held up pending the out- come of the murder trial. The de- fendants in the murder trial are w be the State's chief witnesses aginst Wood and her co-defendants.
