The activity was dustrial convertible Anaconda mainly on the in- issues which were Copper 7s rose 2 Barnsdall 6s, 2, and Andes Cop- 1 point Public Service of New Jersey 4!,s. which went up yesterdav from 147 to 152. were back to abou 150 after an early advance. Pate Tose a point to a new high for tt movement States Rubber 5s were each up !,. Cuba Cane Sugar issues were stronger. with some improvement iz the general list of sugar securities. As the transactions were so smail, the fractional declines recorded in a num- ber of high-grade rails and public utili- ties had no special significance. The market for these issues is a narrow one and prices are influenced quite sharply by trades in $5.000 and $10.000 amounts. In the foreign list the strongest issues were the Peruvian 6s and 7s, the latter gaining nearly a point. Lower prices of pork and chickens and cheaper prices for several varleti of vegetables were interesting features of the week's market. Prices of fresh- ' killed heaf, lamb and veal continued unchanged, lamb being about the | cheapest of the meats. A continued firm condition of the | egg market was reported, dealers re- ported an inability to obtain ncarby fresh stock in quantities sufciently large to enable them to supply their patrons’ demancs. Flame, ‘Tokays, Muscats and other varieties of ranging from 75 cents to $1.60. Bauanas Plentifal. ‘There has been no scarcity of bananas this week. They have continued in good demand, although numerous other fruits have continued plentiful. Prices ranged from $2 to §3 a bunch. Oranges, noi plentiful, continue high, large fruit selling at from $6 to $7.50, smaller fruit being offered at $8 and $8.50. Mod- erate receipts of grapefruit sold, as to size. from $4 to $6, few higher. Moderate supplies of quinces, prunes and cranberries and light supplies of damsons were reported. An unsettled condition of the egg markei was reported by dealers this morning. It is sald to be due to the output of storage stock that is keeping down prices of fresh eggs from nearby Meryland and Virginia. Current receipts this morning were quoted at 40 and 432 cents, hennery at 50 and 52, some higher, and fresh selected stock at 45 and 48 cents.
