Washington has a visitor for the week end, one of the noted bishops of the Rusisan Orthodox Church, and the leader of that church In the United States and Canada, appointed in 1922 by the last Russian patriarch, Arch- bishop Tikhon, who died five years ago. Metropolitan_Platon, who is Arch- bishop of the Russian-Greek Orthodox churches in North America, is not a stranger to the United States, having been stationed here from 1907 to 1914, as Archbishop of America. He has held the positions of Exarch of Georgla and Caucasus and Metropolitan of Odessa.
