The appeal takes the form of a ‘personal letter from Mr. Bald- win. The announcement said that the ministry would defray the traveling expenses of the men so transferred from the depres ed areas. Members of the Park and anning Commission from Montgom- ery County and Irving C. Root, chief engineer for the mmmi«hn who pre- pared the plans, were present, as well as State Senator Jones. a resident of Kensington. No definite action was taken by the council. One plan for climinating the crossing would divert Connecticut avenue traffic south on the west side of the railroad to a point south of the present Kensington grade crossing through a subway to be built between the grade crossing and the railroad station. The other, which the Park and Planning Commission also has prepared, would direct the Con- necticut avenue traffic northeast at the railroad and cross the railroad on an overhead bridge 150 feet north.
