LAURA HALSEY DIES AT AGE OF 45 Prominent D. C. Woman Lawyer Succumbs After Long Ca- reer in Capital. Mrs. Laura Hopkins Halsey, promi- | nent woman leader, and former dean of the Washington College of Law, | died yesterday at her home, 1336 Quinecy street. Mrs. Halsey was born October 25 1882, in Evansville, Ind. She came to this city about 28 years ago accepted a position in the Patent Of- fice. In 1918 she took charge of the | Iocal office of the American Woman Suffrage Association. In 1921 she was | graduated with high honors from the Washington College of Law, receiv- ing the degrees of L.L. M. and M. P. L. WOMAN PUBLISHES BOOK OF CHILD GAMES Volume Planned as Help to Busy Mothers—New Entertainment for Children Claimed. Scores of new games for children to play, based on an entirely new idea and aiming to help busy mothers, are prasented in a new book written by Miss Marian King of Washington, just published. Miss King, who formerly lived at Beverly Courts here, conducts the juvenile book review department of the New York Worll and has heen a student of childran’s books and games for many years, In her new book, which is entitled “The A. B. C. Game Book,” each let- ter of the alphabet stands for one game or several games—games to be played indoors or outdoors. The verses are printed cn alternating green and yellow pazes in lirge type and are the kind that will be lahori- ously spelled out and memcrized by the youngsters.
