Porter, receiver of in- solvent national banks in the Treas- ury Department, and well known in Congressional and civic circles, died at Homeopathic Hospital at 12:40 o'clock yesterday morning after an ill ness of about a month Mr. Porter and his wife, Mrs. Lil- lian Jarvis Porter, left Washington ahout four weeks ago for an automo- bile trip to Maine and spent the night at Lancaster, Pa. The following morning, as they were about to re- sume their trip, Mr. Porter was strick- en while in the driver's seat. He re- mained uncopscious for nearly 3; hours in a hospital there, and two weeks ago he returned to Washington. aturday morning he was again stricken and never regained conscious- ness. o Mr. Porter was born in Monmouth, 1., February 24, 1869, where his mother, Mrs. Frances M.
