18 ~GERMANS APPROVE PAT WTH FRANEE ~=frade Treaty Provides for|| Favored Nation Tariffs on Many Articles. Br the Assoclated Pre PARIS August 17.—France and Ger- many placed their signatures today on a commercial treaty based largely on most favored nation tariffs, after three || years of frequently interrupted nego- |! tiations. It is a complex arrangement | of several t nd clauses, effective September 6. By the treaty France will get bet- || ter terms on cultural products, textiles, shoes, benefit on chemicals, machinery, elec- | trical goods, cement, faience and leatherwork. Most favored nation treatment will be applied for both es | by December 15, 1 at the latest. France won the i to export a limited amount of wines to Germany on favorable terms, while | Germany exacted numerous conces- | sions, many of which are not con- | nected with the tariff.
