Announcement of five other new ad- ditions to the Georgetown faculty for the new academic year and the trans- .fer of three of its present members was made last night by Rev. Charles W. Lyons, S. J.. president of the uni- versity, upon the receipt of an order from the provincial of the New York- Maryland province. The change in the medical and dental regency is the only one oc- curring in the executive staff of the university, President Lyons and those immediately under him being con- tinued in office. Father Lyons left Washington today for Boston and other places in New England and will return about August 25. Formerly Held Post of Regent. The newly appointed regent in the medical and dental schools held that position until succeeded himself by Father Didusch. During the past year he has been engaged in a spe- clal study of medical schools abread in addition to his_own course of gtudies at various European univer- sities. At his own request, Father Didusch was transferred so that he could resume the teaching of biology, in which branch he has long been prominently identified. He has been transferred to Woodstock College. the Jesuit house of studies in Maryland. Two ot'ier transfers are those of Rev. P. Levain, who has been assigned to the Jesuit House of Studies in Poughkeepsie, N. Y., and the Rev. R. H. Tier ho goes to the college of St. ncis Xavier. Though not attached to the college faculty, Rev. M. Carasig, a dis- tinguished Filipino scholar and priest, will take a special course in astronomy &t Georgetown this year under Rev. Jdward C. Phillips, director of he Astronomical Observatory. Father Carasig is a graduate of Ateneo Col- lege, in the Philippines. Upon com- pletion of his studies here he will re- urn to the islands to join the staff of the American observatory. Rev. John T. O'Brien, who taught at Georgetown about four years ago. will return as professor of logic. At resent he has been at Woodstock Col- oge. Other New Faculty Members.
