LINDI Lindbergh Attended Eastern High, Former Principal of School Recalls Charles A. Lindbergh, world-famous aviator, who spent his school days in Washington and attended Sidwell's Friends School in 1914, where he was popularly known as “Cheese,” also was a pupil at the Eastern High School, it was announced today by Charles Hart, principal of Eastern. Belated knowledge that Lindbergh attended Eastern High School was brought to light today by Dr. W. S Small, head of the division of educa tion at the Maryland University, who was principal of Eastern in the Fall of 1915 when yvoung Lindbergh. then 13 years and 7 months old, enrolled as a freshman. Dr. Small called Principal Hart to day and told him that he was confi- dent that Lindbergh went to Eastern, as he remembered him well. He asked him_to search his records again for confirmation. Without delay Mr. Hart was able to establish that Lindbergh attended Eastern from the Fall of 1915 until the Spring of the following year. Happy to know that Lindbergh once attended Eastern, Principal Hart de- clared today that if the renowned flyer comes to Washington, he will be asked to visit his old school, where a spe- cial assembly will be held in his honor. PARIS, May 26 (#).—Capt., Lind- hergh's idea of a system of relay floats for an air line between New York and Paris is by no means un- reasonable, Excelsior was told by the heads of the French government air service. They had reached these con- clusions after a series of studies made by department technicians. Such a scheme, they pointed out, was being worked on hy a private establish- ment, which bolieved it would be in a position to put it into effect in the early future.
