HUGHES. Special Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK. March 4.—Trading interest in bonds today again cen- tered around convertible issues or those carrying stock purchase war- rants. In the main these were strong, but the strictly *investment issues were dull and neglected. On the one hand there was no pressure from the banks on the selling side and on the other buying orders at present levels were limited. re- sult was a stand-off, as far as this class of obligations was concerned. The feature among the convertibles included Liquid Carbonic 6s, which Tan up a point on a fairly large turn- over. These bonds are convertible into Liquid Carbonic stock at any time at $60 s share. The stock is some five points under the conver- sion price, but, inasmuch as the call runs until the maturity of the bonds, or until they are redeemed, buyers are willing to pay a premium. An- other in this group was Loew's 6s. These carry detachabl, ock-purchase warrants entitling the holder to buy Loew’s common in the ratio of five shares for each $1,000 of debentures at $35 per share. The stock sells slightly above this price, so that the warrants have an immediate value.
