Potentate Charlie Shackelford cele- brated Christmas week with his last ceremonial of Almas Temple of the Mystic Shrine last Thursday evening at the Masonic Temple Auditorium. 1t was informal in character, but 23 initiates made it one of the more im- portant of the informal ceremonials, while the exchange of Christmas greetings and the formulation of New Year resolutions helped additionally to mark the occasion. While emphasis was laid upon the fact that it was the last ceremonial, Potentate Shack- elford impressed upon the nobles that it was only the last for 1926 and that the new year held promising pros- pects in store. It will be observed by members of Robert Le Bruce Chapter by visiting various hospitals of the city, calling especially on the sick who may be lonely and . friendless, trying to cheer them with words of comfort and gifts of flowers and fruit. The principal event Friday evening will be the public installation of offi- cers, William Bright. jr., as master couneilor; Charles Riddle as senior councllor, and Willlam MgFarland as junior councilor. Past master coun- cllors will act as the installing oficers. At this meeting the majority de- gree will be conferred. This degree ia in the nature of a farewell and God- speed to those members or the order ‘who have reached their majority dur- ing the last three months. The mem- bers of the farewell committee will confer :his degree. The chapter ex- tends an invitation to all its friends to be present on this night. The formal exercises of the evening will be followed by dancing. The Nor- man Goldman Orchestra will furnish the music. The demand on the Masqueraders for entertainment outside the chapter, it is announced, has grown to such an extent that they are forced to de- cline some of the invitations recetved. Traiie this is a matter of regret to the club, their new play demands fre- quent rehearsals, and they simply have to stay at home and work. The basket ball season has opened and the chapter team is busy practie- ing and playing. Invitations to play teams from outside chapters are being received and out-of-town games are being arranged.
