Frisby, 55 years old, {colored lawyer who had practiced here for the past 25 years, died at his residence, 2923 Eleventh street, after an illness lasting since last April. A., retired, superintendent at West Point Military Academy from 1912 until 1916, died suddenl at his residence, 2006 O street, th morning of angina pectoris. He was 71 years old. His death followed a gradual decline during the past ten days. Gen. Townsley was born in De Kalb, N. Y., September 24, 1855. He was graduated from Union College in 1876 and received an honorary de- sree there in 1913. He received an ointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1877 from Towa. He was commis- sloned a_second lieutenant in the Ar- tillery, June 11, 1881. He was pro-; moted to first lieutenant in 1888, Gen. Townsley was married to Miss | Marian Howland of Newport, R. I..| January 7, 1891, at Newport. In 1899 | . TOWNSLEY. he was commissioned a captain of Artillery and became a fhajor in 1905. Three vears later he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in 1911 became a colonel. At the completion of his command at West Point in 1916, he was promoted to brigadier general.
