BISHOPS' CRUSADE Pastor Installed WILLOPEN JAN.23. Misiting Clergymen to Con- duct Missions in Four Epis- copal Churches Here. Arrangements are being completed for the bishops' crusade in this city. | *The plans are in the hands of the field department of the executive councll; of the Episcopal Church, with the| Rev. Dr. George F. Dudley, rector| ©f St. Stephen's parish, as chairman. The crusade has been arranged by the national commission on evan- gellsm of the Episcopal Church. Dur- \ing seven weeks, beginning with January 9, teams of crusaders, each team consisting of a bishop together with presbyters and lay people, will visit every one of the large centers ot population in the United State: to awaken church people to a new | gense of consecration and dedication. In the dlocese of Washington the crusade will begin January 23 and will continue six days. Missions will be held in four city churches in dif- gerent parts of the District. Churches Are Designated. The churches are, Epiphany, 1317 G street; St. Mark’s, Third and A Streets southeast; St. Margaret’s, Connecticut avenue and Bancroft place, and Christ Church, Thirty-first and O streets. During the period of the crusade holy communion Wwill he celebrated daily, not only in the churches named, but also in other Episcopal churches in different parts of the city. The following are members of the team of crusaders who will preach in Washington: Right Rev. Thomas C. Darst, Bishop of East Carolina znd ead of the bishops’ crusade: Right v. James E. Freeman, Bishop of ashington, who, in addition to be- Ing a crusader in New York, will h at Epiphany Church here fanuary 24 and 25; Rev. Dr. Fred G. Budlong of the diocese of Pittsburgh, at present serving at Greenwich, Conn., with additional duties at Rose- mary School for Girls; Rev. Dr. Fred- erick L. Flinchbaugh of Wilkes-Barre, Rev. Dr. R. Palmer, executive secretary of the bishops’ crusade, will conduct conferences in Washington in connec- tion with the crusade. Details of the Washington meetings will be announced later. In each of the four mission churches there will be intercessions at noon and after- noon conferences every day. In the evenings the crusaders wili preach. Sermons in Various Churches. On the morning of January 23 the crusaders will preach in other of the city churches. During the three Sun- days preceding the crusade the rec- tors of the various Episcopal Churches ip the city will preach on subjects connected with the crusade and in some cases there will be short ad dresses by laymen. One interesting proposed feature will be “pligrimages” from the country parishes to the churches where the crusade is being preached. The crusade will be fol- lowed by extensive preaching by mis- sloners sent out from the city to the rural parts of the diocese. At the mission service the singing will be congregational, led by a pre- centor, and the mission hymnal will be used in addition to the church hymnal. From the diocese of Washington 2 number of crusaders will go out to neighboring dioceses. Heading this Hst is Bishop Freeman, who will ch in New York January 9 and the following week. The assign- ment of other Washington clergy- men has been made as follows: Rev. Canon Anson Phelps Stokes, to the diocese of West Virginia; Rev.
