McKin- ney, pioneer newspaper man of Fair- mont, was held this afternoon v\\l‘lh r. McKinney was 77 years old. Death was due to cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. McKinney was once associated with the late Col. C. L. Smith in the publication of the Fairmont Index. Later he was affiliated with the Fair- mont Times, retiring from news- paper activities a few years ago. He was a leader in the Demorcratic party. He was once speaker of the West Virginia House of Delegates and was his_party’s nominee for Con- gress. He was prominent in State and local Masonic circles and also in the Odd Fellows. The first secretary of the Colombian legation, Senor J. M. Coronado, and his mother, Senora Maria de Coronado, received word today of the death Thursday of the latter's youngest son, Maj.
