NEW YORK, April 24.—Bond trad- ing quieted down today after the ex- cited market yesterday when sales of domestic issues broke all records for volume and when advances to new highs were common. Prime investment issues held their recent gains, but there were few im- portant new advance: More attention paid to the speculative and second-grade obliga tions. Prominent among these were International Mercantile Marine The report that the bonds might be retired if the proposed sale of a part of the company's property went through brought new buying into the obligations, carrying the price up to a new top for the movement.
