Entries already have béen made by more than a score of dog owners for the twelfth annual dog show of the Washington Kennel Club to be held April 19 and 20 in the Arcade. An- nouncement of the opening of entries was made Saturday at the office of Dr. Willlam P. Collins, presi- dent of the. club, at 2130 P street, where entries will be received daily and Sunday from 9 am. to 9 p.m. until the close of Aptil 6. Announcement was made by Frank P. Leech, bench show chairman, that dogs of any recognized breed, whether pedigreed or not, will be eligible to entry. The club hopes this rule will stimulate unusual interest in the show this year. BIRMINGHAM, Ala,, March 20.— Sealed lips in Alabama prison camps have proven “impassable barriers” to investigations of alleged inhuman treatment of convicts, James Davis, Jefferson County solicitor, said in a statement published yesterday. He announced that he expected to con- tinue the investigation into the death of James W. Knox, former Ravens- wood, W. Va., youth, who died at Jdat Top Mine camp in August, 1924, 10 days after he began serving a 2.year sentence for forgery.
