March 10.— Thousands yesterday viewed the body of the highwayman fatally wounded here by a trolley car motorman last night when two men attempted to hold up the car on the outskirts of the city, and out of this number there were two men who had seen the bandit One o v ght the man to - afternoon. having picked him up fn his_car just west of Raleigh. A. R. Kauffman. a contractor of this ecity, identified the bandit as a mun who came to his home with Bovard Monday afternoon, the latter having applied for a job as a truck driver. He identified the pistol which was found on the highwayman as one stolen from him. Bovard is held by the police for further questioning. Authorities here belleve the bandit to be Bill Romich, the name which was carved on his belt. A Norfolk ¥. M. C. A. card found in his pocket also bore that name. WILL TEACH INDIAN LORE.
